everyday life.

Intermediate (Must have completed Beginner class prior.)
This is for a dog that has completed the beginner levels or has demonstrated
to myself or on recommendation of the staff, that they are proficient and have a
basic understanding of general obedience commands. Here we will begin to
introduce more advance distractions for stay, attention, and leash walking, as
well as leave it. This class is designed for the dog owner who enjoys taking their
canine companion out in public and wants to be able to enjoy their
companionship with a well behaved canine

Introduction to Rally/ Advance (Must have recommendation of
staff or trainer before entering, or has completed intermediate class.)
Rally is a fairly new sport to competition obedience that encourages
teamwork between handler and canine companion.  In rally it is acceptable to
talk to your dog and cheer them on.  In this class the novice signs will be
introduced and the correct technique will be demonstrated.  This is a great sport
for any dog enthusiast.
                                       Group Class Policies

•Refunds and transfers will not be made after the first class.

•Dogs who are aggressive or obsessive barkers may be asked to participate in private lessons or classes
specific to that need. We want everyone to get the most out of their experience at Pups Play and Stay.
Some dogs may be better able to learn in a private situation.

•Children are welcomed.  However, they will need to stay beside you or seated with quite activates.  This
is for their safety for we may not know how all dogs will act around children. Children that are disruptive
to class will not be able to attend.

•One adult should handle the dog during class. Friends, spouses and other adult family members may
quietly sit in the audience and observe so that they will be familiar with the training program and will be
better able to practice at home with your dog.

•Dogs not registered for class will not be permitted in training session unless provisions made with
trainer, and cleared prior to class.

•Get to class a few minutes early to give the dog ample opportunity to relieve himself outdoors. Clean up
after your dog when he relieves himself outdoors.

•Wear sneakers or other sturdy shoes, no flip flops, sandals, or clogs. This is to prevent falling.

•Bring a 4-6 foot leash, no retractable leashes please.

•Bring 3 bags of different types of treats.  Bring  something that the dog will love- for example, sliced hot
dogs, cubes of cheese, squeeze tube of peanut butter, freeze dried liver treats, jerky treats, etc.

•We use positive reward based training methods. Please bring several types of his favorite treats to class
each week.

•Please inform us if it is necessary for you to miss a class. A private appointment (at applicable rates) can
be scheduled to make up the missed class if you wish. There will be no make up group classes provided.

•To be successful while training your dog you must put time into training your dog at home. This includes
making time to take the dog out to new environments, to practice and socialize. There is no “magic pill” in
dog training.

•Private instruction is available if you feel you need help on issues not covered in group class. If we see
that you are in need of extra help we may recommend that you schedule a private appointment either in
addition to, or in place of the group class.

•I will be available to help with any questions about any aspect of training during the scheduled training.
Please call or email me and I will get back you ASAP.

•Prior to participating in an advanced class it will be necessary for one of the training team to evaluate
you and your dog.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions regarding these policies.
